How I saved myself from a WhatsApp Review Scam : Be alert people

So yesterday, I received a message from an anonymous number claiming that they are a company collecting reviews and for that they would pay me Rs 203/-. At first, I said okay, let’s do a 50- 50 deal. You sent me 100 Rs, and the rest you can send me after the review has been completed. This is the easiest process to identify a fake. 

As always, my method worked. This is where they started getting panic attacks. They said we are a company that only pays after review. They send me numerous screenshots of people who have received the money. I just said I was not interested and moved on with my life.  Imagine a company scared of paying 100 rs, and they would pay after delivery. Yeah, right, proud of you.

I asked for a company profile and they sent me a LinkedIn company profile of IHCL (The indian hotels company limited). Imagine a company of this stature hiring people to review hotels? Is this possible? Absolutely not. I would encourage IHCL to take strict action against these people at the earliest.

Then they said you can delete the review if you don’t receive the money, and I backfired, claiming that a fortune company is scared of spending 100rs, then I believe it’s not worth my time and effort.

Then I searched on Google about WhatsApp review scam, and here is what I found :

• Times of India said that a Hyderabad man lost 60 lakhs due to this scam.
• Reddit users claim that their personal information was stolen.
• False reviews have made people purchase a product that they regret.

Note: Anything that promises you quick money is a scam.

Why you should not participate at all

• We often buy products based on online reviews. 
• We manipulate the Google algorithm, showing that users can trust a product. 
• People lose their hard-earned money due to fake reviews.
