When the clock struck 10 pm, all our families used to sit in front of the television and watch the iconic series called Kyuki Saas bhi Kabhi bahu thi. A pop culture phenomenon that featured Tulsi Virani. This show impacted millions of lives in every Indian home and now it’s all set to make a comeback

Sources from Times of India reveal that Ekta Kapoor might be renewing the show which gave her popularity. During a recent interview, she said “ I am all set to make the biggest comeback ever with Kyuki Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi, yes I did face a lot of challenges when the show premiered but this is the show I am best known for “

Close sources from the production house said that initially the show was made to feature 2000 episodes but it got stuck around 1600 and the audience never got the ending that they deserved.

Reports from Hindustan Times suggest that the reboot of the show will feature the rest 400 episodes which will hit the milestone benchmark of 2000. Since Smriti Irani is now a politician in real life,  the show will feature her as a politician who manages her political career and her family life tackling the everyday challenges she faces from time to time.

Pinkvilla has commented on this matter and they have penned down saying that the show will be announced in June 2025 and Smriti Irani will welcome the viewers in the intro scene as she did in 2000. The excitement across the Indian home has skyrocketed after this news.

Let’s see if Ekta and the team could live up to the hype they have generated. For more such news, stay connected with Screen Saga.

  1. This reboot sounds like a fascinating blend of nostalgia and fresh storytelling—especially with Smriti Irani playing a version of herself as a politician. It’s interesting that they’re planning to complete the original vision with the remaining 400 episodes. Feels like a thoughtful way to give closure to long-time fans while updating the narrative for today’s audience.

  3. Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi had such a cultural impact, especially back in the day. I think the reboot is a great idea, but it’s hard to imagine the show without Smriti Irani. She truly defined Tulsi’s character.

  4. The idea of continuing the original storyline instead of starting from scratch is really refreshing—most reboots today take a completely new angle. This could be a game-changer for Indian TV if done right, especially for fans who felt the original ending was incomplete.

  5. I remember watching this show with my family every night—it’s amazing to hear it’s returning to complete its journey. Curious to see how they’ll modernize the themes while staying true to the original essence.
