Chhorii 2 Review : Enough Jump Scares and beautiful storyline will make you watch this film on repeat

The backdrop of Chorri 1: Nusrhrratt gets married to a household and moves to a village where if the women are not able to provide male children, they are killed along with their daughter. Nushrratt being pregrant with a daughter escapes this madhouse by killing his husband’s parents and then confesses the crime to the police.

Part 1

The film opens in a city where Nushratt is now a school teacher. She lives with her daughter Ishani and an inspector to whom she has confessed her crime. Seven years have passed since Nustrat escaped from the village. Ishani (Nushratt’s daughter ) has a rare medical condition that she cannot go in the sunlight. As Ishani is playing her in the house she is possessed by a demon spirit. She willingly walks out of the house and sits in a car that takes her to the same village where her mother once had sleepless nights.

Part 2.

Ishani’s mother and her lover (inspector) go to the village too to rescue their child and meet Dai Ma aka Soha Ali Khan. Dai ma serves as the high priest who serves a demon known as Adi Manav. As the film moves along we get to see that Dai Ma has the same medical condition as the Ishani. Dai Ma is preparing Ishani for a sacrifice that Soha Ali Khan has once gave to the demon. Only children who cannot go out in the sun are eligible for the sacrifice.

Part 3

After a lot of difficulties, Nustrat finally reaches the place where Adi Manav lives and openly challenges to demon to fight. She is backed up by the spirits of thousands of women whose daughters ( having the same medical condition as Ishani) have been taken away and given as sacrifices. The mothers were beaten since they raised their voices.

Ending

Nushrat manages to make sure that the daughter is safe after experiencing a lot of pain and is nearly beaten to death. She fights the demon along with Dai Ma who later realizes what evil things she has been doing in the name of rituals. Stellar performances were given by Soha Ali Khan and Nushrratt. It’s good to see Soha still having star power in her.

Messages given

Chorri 1 gave us the message that even in this modern era some villages kill daughters since they think they are a burden. Chhorri 2 gave us the message that even today child marriages are happening in the name of a ritual and this is the reason why there are multiple child deaths.
