Part 1 : A Sinister Opening

Haiwaan begins with Parshuram Gokhale played by (Akshay Kumar) taking a bath in a pond, immediately revealing an evil-looking tattoo on his back. The opening tries to create an atmosphere of mystery around his character, making you wonder who this man is and what exactly he has done.
The story then shifts to a village where we meet Shyam Rane played by (Saif Ali Khan). He is blind, but that has never stopped him from taking care of his family. Shyam’s family is busy arranging a marriage for his sister in their village, and we slowly understand how important he is to everyone around him. His blindness hasn’t made him dependent on others. Instead, he has built a life where everyone depends on him.
The Man Who Runs Everything
Interestingly, Shyam works as a manager of a well-maintained residential society in Mumbai. He knows the place inside out and takes care of practically everything happening there. His blindness becomes less of a weakness and more of an unusual ability as the story progresses.
Shyam is also extremely close to Chief Justice Pradhan, played by (Boman Irani). Their friendship becomes one of the most important parts of the story because the Chief Justice has a dangerous secret from his past.
The Chief Justice believes that he may have made a terrible mistake previously. A man named Parshuram was falsely convicted of rape, and that wrongful conviction destroyed his life; his family died from the shame.
Parshuram, played by Akshay Kumar, eventually comes out with one thing on his mind: revenge. He blames the people responsible for what happened to him and begins targeting everyone connected to the case.
The Secret Daughter
The Chief Justice never married, but he has a daughter named Nandini. She lives away from him in a missionary boarding school. Because of the danger surrounding her father’s past, her identity and location have been kept secret.
The biggest problem for Parshuram is that Nandini’s location is known only to Shyam. That makes the blind man the most important obstacle standing between Parshuram and his revenge.
Part 2: The Murder Investigation Begins

The second part begins with a police investigation. Anyone connected to the Parshuram case is being murdered, along with their entire family. The killings make it clear that someone is systematically eliminating everyone connected to the old case. The Chief Justice understands that he could be the next target. He knows that Parshuram is coming for him and, more importantly, that Nandini could also be in danger.
Money for Nandini
Fearing what might happen, the Chief Justice withdraws cash from the bank and tries to deposit it in Nandini’s name. He is desperately attempting to secure his daughter’s future before the killer reaches her.
Akshay Kumar’s Parshuram eventually finds his way out of prison and heads towards the people connected to the case. His ultimate objective is Nandini, but he has one major problem: he doesn’t know where she is.Parshuram tries different ways to obtain Nandini’s location. But every route eventually leads back to Shyam, because Shyam is the one person who knows the truth.
Blindness Becomes Shyam’s Greatest Weapon
This is where the film has an interesting idea. Shyam may be blind, but he is extremely alert. He can detect movements, sounds and situations around him in ways that allow him to understand when something is wrong.
Parshuram tries to extract information from Shyam, but Shyam doesn’t reveal anything. He understands the danger and protects Nandini’s identity. The cat-and-mouse game between the two characters is supposed to become the central thriller of the movie.
Part 3: The Final Confrontation

Eventually, Akshay Kumar’s Parshuram manages to discover Nandini’s location. His mission is now simple: find her and kill her.Shyam refuses to let Parshuram reach Nandini. The final confrontation becomes a fight between the blind protector and the man consumed by revenge. The two finally come face-to-face, leading to the film’s climactic fight. Shyam fights to protect Nandini, while Parshuram is determined to finish what he started.
Parshuram Dies
Ultimately, Parshuram loses the fight and dies. The revenge story finally comes to an end, and that is essentially where the movie wraps up. Finally, it is revealed that Nandini was actually Akshay Kumar’s daughter who survived the suicide
My Verdict: What the Fuck Was This?
Honestly, this is one of the stupidest stories I have watched in a long time. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, some major revelation, some genuinely clever twist or even one moment that would make me say, “Okay, now this is getting good.” It never happened.
You have Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Boman Irani and Priyadarshan together. On paper, that combination should have produced something far more interesting. Instead, the film feels like an extremely low-effort thriller that never understands what to do with its own premise.
Akshay Kumar Is Completely Miscast
Akshay Kumar’s character is supposed to be dangerous and frightening, but I never felt that menace. Parshuram should have been the kind of villain who makes you uncomfortable whenever he appears on screen.Instead, the character feels underwritten and strangely performed.
Akshay Kumar Should Take a Break
At this point, honestly, I don’t know what Akshay Kumar is doing. He has the talent and the experience to choose much better projects, but Haiwaan feels like another film where the potential is completely wasted. For me, Akshay Kumar seriously needs to take a step back and rethink the kind of films he is choosing.
Special Mention : Saif Ali khan
The one performance I genuinely appreciated was Saif Ali Khan’s. His portrayal of a blind man gives the film whatever little emotional weight it has. He plays the character with sincerity and manages to make Shyam feel like an actual human being rather than just a plot device.
