Nushratt was deeply hurt when she was replaced in Dream Girl 2

You might have noticed the stellar performance of Nushrraat Bharuchha opposite Ayushman Khurrana in Dream Girl. However, sources from Pinkvilla reveal why wasn’t she casted starring in the next sequence of the Dream Girl franchise known as Dream Girl 2 which was released in August 2023.
When asked what she feels about this move taken by the production house, she said “I am deeply hurt since the second installment has all the same actors from the previous installment except me “.
Discussing with Nayandeep Rakship about his journey in Bollywood as an outsider she said “ Though I am deeply hurt by this decision from the production team, she said she would not be able to reverse the choices. What would I say to the production team “ why not me?” they would reply me as “ we do not want you “.
The Chorri 2 actress said “There is no use of being upset and thinking why would they not work with me, instead I am working on myself and would work with people who value my contribution. When one door closes god has a beautiful way of opening another one”
Dream Girl 2 was released in August 2023, starring Ananya Pandey replacing her as the lead heroine. Now Nushrratt is busy promoting her movie Chorri 2 starring Soha Ali Khan which was released on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, 2025
